Christopher Ehrman is the Director of the Whistleblower Office at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.  Section 748 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act established a whistleblower program under which the CFTC will pay awards, based on collected monetary sanctions, to eligible whistleblowers who voluntarily provide original information about violations of the Commodity Exchange Act that lead either to a “covered judicial or administrative action” or a “related action.”
 
Sean McKessy is the former Chief of the Securities and Exchange Commission Whistleblower Office, He provides singular insight and unparalleled knowledge of the SEC whistleblower program in his work with Phillips & Cohen clients. Mr. McKessy was the first Chief of the SEC Whistleblower Office and helped establish the processes the office follows and the policies that guide the SEC whistleblower program. His office assessed and reviewed whistleblower tips, evaluated whistleblower award claims and made whistleblower award recommendations to the Commission.

VC Unlocked: Deal Camp at Berkeley

Deal Camp is a four-day course focused on the nuts and bolts of deal making for investors who want to improve their ability to define, negotiate, and execute early-stage investments. Participants worked with leading UC Berkeley faculty and 500 Partners to develop strategies to structure deals in order to maximize investment returns. Program participants attended the 500 Startups Preview Day in San Francisco on October 18 and then headed to UC Berkeley for Deal Camp on October 19-21. Deal Camp used a project-based learning approach in which participants took part in a negotiation simulation with real companies which they saw pitch at 500 Startups Preview Day.
