The Enacting Purpose Initiative is  (“EPI”) is a multi-institution partnership between the University of Oxford, the University of California Berkeley, BCG BrightHouse, EOS at Federated Hermes, and the British Academy. It aims to research and report on emerging global best practices around the implementation of corporate purpose within organizations.

In 2020, we released our first report, Enacting Purpose Within the Modern Corporation, A Framework for Boards of Directors. The report was featured in the Harvard Business Review and Financial Times.

As recently reported in the Financial Times Moral Money, the Enacting Purpose Initiative is thrilled to announce its second report, Directors & Investors: Building on Common Ground to Advance Sustainable Capitalism. Co-authored by Amelia Miazad of Berkeley Law and Rupert Younger of Oxford-Said School of Business, the report relies on insights from over 60 directors and investors and maps out how boards can leverage purpose to address social issues and create long term sustainable value.
