J.D. Admissions

This year, for the first time LSAC has offered the LSAT in January. We have received requests from some January test-takers to be allowed to apply once they have their scores (scheduled for release on February 18, 2019). We want to accommodate them, and to be fair to all others. To address this concern, we are reopening our application on a limited basis.
The application will remain open until 11:59 pm PT on February 28, 2019. Our hope is that this will afford people receiving January LSAT scores an opportunity to apply to Berkeley Law, should they wish to do so. In order to be considered, applications must be complete (including a CAS report) by the February 28 deadline. We will not accept applications after this date, nor will we accept the March 2019 LSAT for the 2018-19 application cycle.***

Berkeley Law is one of the nation’s premier law schools, and our academic demands are intense. But that’s only part of our educational picture.

Our students are bright, intellectually curious, and remarkably collegial. They come to Berkeley to experience a rich curriculum and a supportive learning environment and to learn the law under a grading system that encourages them to compete with themselves, rather than against one another. Berkeley Law professors—even the most legendary—are approachable and accessible. Our distinguished alumni are members of an extended, world-wide family that is engaged with the school in a multitude of ways. Our administration team actively seeks ways to improve the experience for everyone.

Being a member of the Berkeley Law community is an experience not just for three years, but for life.
