UC Scholarships

The UC Berkeley Graduate Fellowships Office provides several university scholarships for graduate students. Most are awarded based on the student’s financial need as reflected on the FAFSA form.

Graduate Opportunity Fellowship (GOP)

The Graduate Opportunity Program Master’s Fellowship is an award for US citizens, permanent residents, and AB 540 applicants who are entering a terminal master’s or professional degree program.  The funding support consists of a $10,000 stipend ($5,000 per semester) and in-state graduate fees for one academic year. Recipients may have shown academic achievement despite challenges such as social, economic, or educational obstacles and demonstrate financial need as evidenced by the FAFSA. Nomination is required.
