Ann Cummings is Director of Operations at the Center for Law, Energy, & the Environment (CLEE). Prior to joining CLEE, Ann served as the Senior Director of Special Projects at Accion Opportunity Fund, a leading U.S. microlender to small businesses that lack access to capital, and was the Chief Operating Officer of the Andrew Levitt Center for Social Emergency Medicine based at Highland Hospital in Oakland, CA. In addition, Ann has over a decade of experience as a restorative justice educator, implementing restorative practices trainings and programs in public schools and nonprofits, including teaching criminal law and civics and implementing restorative justice programs at Richmond High School in Richmond, CA. Ann’s most recent role was as a consultant for Street Law, Inc.’s Legal Diversity Pipeline Program where she facilitated training sessions for attorneys who volunteer in under-resourced schools to teach lessons designed to increase high school students’ knowledge of and interest in legal careers.

Ann has a B.A. in History from Brown University and a J.D. from Berkeley Law where she was an Articles Editor for the Ecology Law Quarterly. After graduation, Ann worked briefly at Pacific Gas & Electric, was the Field Placement Coordinator for Berkeley Law, and taught in the clinical program at the Washington College of Law at American University. Ann is a certified Restorative Practices Trainer with the International Institute of Restorative Practices (IIRP) and a Certified Career Technical Education Teacher (CTE) in Public Service in California.
