For over fifty years, the spatial model of voting has informed a great deal of rational choice scholarship on voting and decision making in legislative and judicial institutions throughout the world. This research has produced both theoretical and empirical insights. In this workshop, I will attempt to provide a brief tour of this line of research. Throughout the workshop, I will attempt to draw connections from the relevant literature in political science to issues of interest to scholars of law and legal institutions.
