Printing Process

Once the following have been completed, you are ready to submit your files to Christensen:

  • Edited all articles
  • Created PDFs of all articles
  • PRINTED out PDFs of articles to review one more time
  • Confirmed Publications Coordinator has all author offprint orders
  • Confirmed Publications Coordinator has all author copyright agreements
  • Informed Publications Coordinator that you’re ready to submit files!

You will be submitting your files directly to Christensen:
          order desk order.desk@christensen.com
          Kristi Kumpost kumpostk@christensen.com

You will also need to provide Christensen with the Order of Materials Form, indicating the order of articles and frontmatter for the particular issue. You do not need to use their form. If you have a document on file that captures the same information, that is fine too.

It is imperative that the Publications Coordinator be informed when you plan on submitting files to the printer. They will do nothing with the files until they’ve received the Print Order!! The print order will include the: quantities and distribution, offprint order information, order for contract proof.

Once the files, the print order, and the Order of Materials Form have been submitted, you will receive your first round of contract proofs within 5 working days.

These will be sent via UPS overnight, and the Publications Coordinator will forward you the UPS shipping email so that you know when they’re arriving.

At this time, the Publications Coordinator will submit the mailing labels and address verification form to Christensen.

The contract proofs include a cover letter from Kristi, indicating any obvious problems with your proofs. It is imperative that you go through all of the contract proofs very thoroughly!

Each time you make changes to a file, you will be charged! Each time you make changes to a file, you will be receiving a new round of contract proofs for your review! Thus, to reduce both costs and time in contract proof editing, it’s best to print out your pdf files and review them before submitting them to the printer!

Cost for resubmitting files:
$1 / page contiguous (ie. $1/pg x the entire page count of the article being submitted)
OR $5 for each individual page being resubmitted for edits
