Purchasing Information

It is best to have the University pay for things directly!! We have both a bluCard and an Event Planner Card that can be used to purchase anything that can be paid by credit card!!

The University pays the vendor directly, and no one has to pay out of pocket and then seek reimbursement. Reimbursements to journal members for out-of-pocket expenditures can take upwards of 1 month to process due to delays in the University’s Disbursements Department. Entertainment: Any food or drink related purchases such as snacks for editorial office, food for journal-related meetings; end of year banquets, etc. Click here for more detailed information.

IMPORTANT:

Certain items must be purchased either by a specific vendor, or directly through the University.A

Computers: Contact Boalt’s Computer Services Department: trouble@law.berkeley.edu You must purchase all computers, printers, and software through the publications coordinator. You will NOT be reimbursed for purchases done on your own. Click here for additional computer information.

Furniture: The University has a sole source vendor agreements with One Workplace and OfficeMax. You must contact the Publications Coordinator for ANY furniture purchases (including bookshelves, desks, couches, cabinets). You will NOT be reimbursed for purchases you do on your own. 3rd party services are for things such as consultants, entertainment, etc. in which the person or vendor is providing a service. Direct payment by the University to the vendor is REQUIRED.

Payment for services (e.g., photography, website design upgrades, musicians, t-shirt printing, A Journal member can not pay the vendor and expect to get reimbursed by the University.
