This workshop is designed to introduce participants to the software and answer some common questions beginning users confront.  The workshop is recommended for those who have never used Atlas.ti before or have only limited experience with the software.  Researchers who have some familiarity with Atlas.ti are also welcome to attend to refresh, to participate in the open discussion and/or to share tips and advice. Participants are not required to bring Atlas.ti software with them or to have ever worked with the software before. It is also not necessary for attendants of this portion of the workshop to bring a laptop or have downloaded Atlas.ti.

The second part of the workshop (after lunch) involves some hands-on practice with the most basic feature of Atlas.ti. Participants of this portion of the workshop should bring their own laptop downloaded with a free trial-version of Atlas.ti (accessible at http://www.atlasti.com/demo.html) prior to attending the workshop. Workshop instructors will provide some sample data for participants to play around with – though if attendees already have qualitative data set they are more than welcome to use their own data for practice.
