LLM and IELE

Berkeley Law welcomes students interested in Master of Laws
(LL.M.) degrees and in international and executive legal training.

Master of Laws (LL. M.)

Berkeley Law is one of the top 10 law schools in the United
States, and offers two paths to the same LL.M. degree: a traditional nine-month
track and a professional track spanning two consecutive summer terms.

Traditional track LLM students interested in environmental
and energy law can earn one or both of the certificates we offer in the area:
the Environmental Law Certificate and the Energy and Clean Technology
Certificate.

Advanced Certificate
Summer Programs in Environmental Law and Energy Law

Join lawyers from around the world in a 2+ week intensive
course in Environmental Law and/or a 4-day intensive course in Energy Law. In
the Environmental Law program, students will study U.S. Environmental law, learn
the wide range of regulatory and policy tools available such as
command-and-control regulation and tradable emissions permits, and participate
in a field trip.  IELE students will also
work in groups to develop a Capstone Project – an oral presentation that
analyzes critical environmental issues. Students may add on or take separately
the Energy Law program, which will provide participants with an overview of the
history of energy, the relationship between energy and development,
environmental and environmental justice impacts of energy generation, and the
fundamentals of electricity generation and oil and gas transactions.  For current schedules and more information,
