You are invited to the 2014 Faculty Retreat on the weekend of August 22-24, 2014.
We have identified the Sanctuary Beach Resort in Marina near Carmel Valley about two hours south of Berkeley for the 2014 retreat location. The retreat is scheduled from Friday evening, August 22 at 6:00 pm through Sunday, August 24 after at 2:00 pm. As with the previous faculty retreats, families are encouraged to attend and faculty will be asked for a moderate contribution toward the total cost of the weekend.
The primary goal of the retreat is to celebrate our intellectual community and enhance scholarly collegiality at the law school. As in the past, faculty will convene on Saturday and Sunday mornings after breakfast for several concurrent group break-out sessions, followed by a lunch plenary session on each day. The business portion of the retreat will end both days by 2:00 pm, when you will be free to enjoy the beautiful Monterey Bay coast with its many opportunities for relaxation and recreation. We will host a reception and group dinner on Saturday evening. The retreat will close after lunch on Sunday, August 24.
The Faculty Planning Committee for the 2014 Retreat includes Dan Farber, Saira Mohamed, and Bobby Bartlett. They will be in contact with faculty to solicit presenters and commentators for each of the sessions. We hope many of you will be available to attend this year’s Faculty Retreat.
