
Sophie Hood is an attorney at Keker & Van Nest LLP, where she works primarily on complex civil cases involving breach of contract, fraud, and intellectual property. She has argued motions to seal court records and she regularly deals with disclosure concerns in public filings. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Hood was a fellow at the Information Law Institute of New York University where she studied privacy and publicity in online court records. Her work at NYU built on prior research on the impact of new media technologies on civic space. Before attending law school, Ms. Hood worked as an analyst in a data analytics group at Morgan Stanley in New York and as a research associate at Harvard Business School, studying the effect of digital technologies on the media industry.
Ms. Hood graduated from Yale Law School and served as a law clerk to Sidney R. Thomas, Chief Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is a member of the California bar.
