Dean Christopher Edley joined a distinguished panel of journalists and authors, including financier George Soros, for a discussion on “The Consequences of the War on Terrorism.” Sponsored by the UC Berkeley Graduate School of Journalism, the event was held on September 19 at Zellerbach Hall. Besides the dean, the program featured:
- Lowell Bergman, UC Berkeley’s Reva and David Logan Distinguished Professor of Investigative Journalism, correspondent for Frontline on the Public Broadcasting Service, and Pulitzer Prize winner;
- Mark Danner, UC Berkeley journalism professor and author of The Secret Way to War: America, Abu Ghraib, and the War on Terrorand Torture and Truth: Consequences of the War on Terror;
- Dana Priest, national security correspondent for The Washington Post and Pulitzer Prize winner; and
- Soros, author of The Age of Fallibility: The Consequences of the War on Terrorism.
Orville Schell, dean of UC Berkeley’s Graduate School of Journalism moderated the discussion.
