The work of Harry Scheiber will take center stage on September 15 when Boalt Hall and the Center for the Study of Law and Society host an all-day conference at the law school honoring his distinguished career.
Scheiber, who sits as the Stefan A. Riesenfeld Professor of Law and History, and directs the Institute for Legal Research and the Sho Sato Program in Japanese and U.S. Law, joined the Boalt faculty in 1980 and is a celebrated scholar of American legal history. The conference will feature an international gathering of his students and collaborators who will participate in sessions on law, economy and natural resources, civil rights and constitutional law, legal history and law and society studies and comparative legal history.
