Noel Nellis ’66, Centennial Co-Chair
Noel Nellis is a partner in the San Francisco office of Orrick and is responsible for the Global Real Estate Group. He focuses his practice on negotiating and documenting transactions in the areas of financing, leasing, development, construction and operation of real property. He has been responsible for the legal aspects of numerous large-scale land development projects such as high-rise office buildings, shopping centers, hotel and resort properties, and industrial buildings. He is an adjunct professor at the Haas School of Business, where he teaches on the subject of Managing the Legal Environment of Business.
Arthur Shartsis ’71, Centennial Co-Chair
Art Shartsis is one of the founding partners of the firm Shartsis Friese. He specializes in complex litigation, including general business disputes, securities, financial institutions, intellectual property, antitrust and construction litigation. Art is the founding president of the Association of Business Trial Lawyers of Northern California. He has lectured widely on legal matters and published on a number of legal and professional matters. Art has served on the boards of the International House at UC Berkeley, the UC Berkeley Alumni Association, and the Boalt Hall Alumni Association and is the coach of the University of California mock trial program.
