Many of us are grappling with how to encourage more civil dialogue on divisive issues on law school campuses, in the legal community, and beyond. For the last several years BJI has been the lynchpin in a very successful program for law students called Effective Communication Across Differences. The program helps law students hone skills in engaging in conversations that demonstrate and request respect. Demand for the program far exceeds the spaces available.
Come join Berkeley Judicial Institute’s Denise Neary and ECAD program architect Robyn Lipsky as they discuss the experience of creating, maintaining and growing the program. We would love to share with you all we have learned about putting on a program like this, and very much want to hear about any efforts you are making in this area, so we can all share resources so that programs like this can proliferate in the legal world.
