On September 17, the 9th Circuit will hear arguments in U.S. v. Oakland Cannabis Buyers Cooperative (OCBC). The case will determine whether the federal government has the power to close down the OCBC, though the cooperative is legal under California law. Following the arguments, Randy Barnett, counsel for the OCBC and professor of law at Boston University, will visit Boalt to discuss the case.
Titled “Does Federalism Cut Both Ways? Comments on the Oakland Medical Marijuana Case,” the talk will take place Wednesday, September 17 at 4:45 p.m. in Booth Auditorium. The event is sponsored by the Boalt Hall Federalist Society.
