EPA Chief to Discuss Environmental Protection, Jobs at UC Berkeley School of Law

SAN FRANCISCO — On Thursday U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa P. Jackson will discuss recent challenges to environmental laws with students and faculty at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. Administrator Jackson will also discuss how the EPA is answering President Obama’s call for federal agencies to work with American businesses and create jobs. The speech is a part of Administrator Jackson’s ongoing efforts to speak with Americans across the country, especially students, about EPA’s work to protect people’s health and the environment and support job growth.

The event, sponsored by the law school’s Center for Law, Energy & the Environment, is a part of Jackson’s two-day visit to the Bay area. On Wednesday, she visited the California Academy of Sciences and spoke with staff and researchers about innovative education and outreach programs and their role in green job development.
