What
I Wish I Had Known For
EIW & FIP
Take two hours to peek behind the
curtain of law firm life with three
Class of 2009 Berkeley Law graduates
just in time for EIW & FIP. This
is an opportunity to get candid advice
on how to make EIW & FIP WORK
FOR YOU. The panelists will
address topics including preparing
effectively for EIW & FIP, using
the interview as a way to discover the
reality of firm life, getting past
disappointing grades, identifying a
niche, coming from a public interest
background, and being a
first-generation professional.
A question-and-answer session will
follow.

Help! I’m
Worried About My Grades:
Can I Still Land A Firm Job?
Yes. It’s
not just about your grades – there are
firms that take a more holistic
approach rather than focusing narrowly
on grade cutoffs or law review. Come
learn successful strategies of landing
a firm job regardless of your grades
from 3Ls and recent alums who were in
your shoes the past couple of years. The
panelists will share their experiences
on how they landed their firm jobs
through EIW, FIP, b-Line, networking,
and other avenues.
A question-and-answer session will
follow.

The
Magic That Turns Interviews
Into Offers:
How To Build An Authentic
Narrative
For many students, the interview is
one of the biggest obstacles to
landing a job. Please join
attorney-counselors Sarah Cunniff,
Kristen Hulse (former
Biglaw hiring committee and summer
associate committee member),
and Samorn Selim for this highly
interactive evening workshop on
interviewing skills. Sarah, Kristen,
and Samorn will use their combined
experience of over 10 years of
counseling students to successfully
land firm jobs to cover an employer’s
goals in an interview; the most common
categories of interview questions and
how to effectively respond to them;
and how to avoid common mistakes.
Through guided short mock interviews
with fellow students, you will get an
opportunity to step into an employer’s
shoes and also get immediate feedback
on your interviewing style and
skills. This workshop will help you
raise your interviewing to the next
level!
