Support CLEE Through Your Donor-Advised Fund

“A Donor Advised Fund is a great tool. It not only makes giving easier, but also because it’s pre-tax dollars, it makes the giving more generous.” – CLEE donor Lenard Weiss (link to article)

A Donor-Advised Fund (DAF) is like a charitable investment account: you contribute cash or other assets, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to organizations you care about (like CLEE) over time. To learn more about how a DAF works and how to establish one through Berkeley, visit this page

To give to CLEE through your DAF, here is key information you’ll need to provide:
1. The number of the CLEE fund you wish to support – list here
2. For Fidelity or Vanguard accounts see instructions here.

3. If you see a selection of UC Berkeley options listed on your DAF’s site:

  • Best to choose “UC Berkeley Foundation”
  • You can also choose “UC Berkeley School of Law” or “Berkeley Law,” BUT note that the Berkeley Law Foundation is a separate entity not related to the law school.

4. The tax identification number to use is 94-6090626.

5. Checks must be made payable to the UC Berkeley Foundation with the fund number (per #1 above) and mailed to:
