Jonathan U. Lee is an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California who has taught Civil Trial Practice and Negotiations at UC Berkeley since 2012. He has been an AUSA since 2005. Before becoming an AUSA, he served as a Deputy City Attorney at the San Francisco City Attorney’s Office and practiced with a civil litigation firm in San Francisco. He has tried both civil and criminal cases to verdict. He has argued before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals as well as the California Courts of Appeal. Professor Lee received his Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center. While at Georgetown, he was a member of the Center for Applied Legal Studies advocacy clinic, representing clients in D.C. Superior Court and before the Social Security Administration. He received his undergraduate degree in history and economics from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
