Since his second year at UC Hastings College of the Law, James B. Creighton has been fascinated with, and has devoted his legal practice to, Wills & Trusts. Throughout his 22+ years in private practice, Jay has provided estate planning, probate, and trust law services to thousands of clients and their families. In July 1997, Creighton founded Creighton Law. Almost 20 years later the firm maintains offices in San Francisco, San Mateo, and Sacramento. The firm’s Sacramento office features a professional video studio in which Creighton records—for his students and clients—informative webinars and video logs (vlogs) dealing with various estate planning, trust, and probate related topics.
Creighton is certified by the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization, as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust, & Probate Law. He has been an adjunct professor of Wills & Trusts since 2011 at UC Hastings College of the Law. He first taught at Berkeley Law in Spring 2016.
In addition, Creighton teaches professional-level courses in estate planning, probate, and trust law to professional groups and associations in the San Francisco Bay Area. He also provides expert witness testimony in cases involving trusts & estates.
