Alan Pomerantz is a senior counsel in Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP’s Real Estate practice and has been a national leader in the legal profession for many years. He has significant experience as the senior member of the deal teams of some of the largest and most complex joint ventures, project developments, acquisitions, public and private financings and restructurings. His clients include real estate investment advisors, private equity funds, global investment banks, global asset managers, real estate developers, REITs, pension funds and other institutional investors and corporations.
Chambers Global has recognized Mr. Pomerantz as one of the “World’s Leading Lawyers.” He is also consistently recognized by the International Financial Law Review‘s Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers, Law Business Research‘s International Who’s Who of Business Lawyers , Legal 500 US Real Estate, and New York Times‘ New York Super Lawyers. In addition, Mr. Pomerantz received the Dougherty-Fulbright Scholarship from the University of Concepcion in Chile. In 2015 he received the Fulbright Award for Global Citizenship from One To World at its 25th Annual Fulbright Awards Dinner for his representation of the interests of the Fulbright vision of international understanding, and the Corporate Live Wire Global Award 2016 for M&A within the Real Estate Sector.
Mr. Pomerantz has published numerous articles on investments, joint ventures, development, capital markets, financing and restructuring, which have appeared in The Bankers Magazine, Journal of Property Finance, Banking Law Journal, Real Estate Finance Journal, New York Law Journal, The Daily Deal, The Metropolitan Corporate Counsel, Shopping Centers Today and The American Banker.
Mr. Pomerantz has also lectured extensively on investing, joint ventures, capital markets, project development, financing, leasing and restructuring in the United States, Europe and Latin America, including at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business, New York University School of Law, the University of Amsterdam, University of Concepcion in Chile, the Canadian Institute, the Bar Association of the City of New York, the New York State Bar Association, The Real Estate Syndicators and Securities Institute, The Institute for International Research, The Urban Land Institute, The International Council of Shopping Centers and the Real Estate Lenders Association.
Prior to joining Pillsbury, Mr. Pomerantz was Co-CEO, President and member of the Investment Committee of ERE Advisors LLC, the general partner of Evercore Real Estate Partners LP.
