“OCI” consists of two programs. The first takes place over the course of a single week well before classes begin called our Early Interview Week, or EIW; the other takes place after the fall semester is underway and is known as our Fall Semester Interview Program, or FIP.
The timing of the first program – EIW – is better suited to firms with larger summer programs and permanent hiring needs. Our later program – FIP – is more tailored to the needs of public interest, government, and smaller firm (i.e., firms with less than 100 lawyers firmwide) employers.
This year, EIW will take place in August 2022 and interviews will take place virtually. FIP interviews are scheduled for September/October. FIP interviews will take place virtually.
100% of the EIW interview slots will be assigned by lottery. Employers in our FIP will be able to select the candidates they want to interview (based on an advance review of candidates’ application materials). Berkeley Law does not permit employers in any of our interview programs to review student transcripts in advance (nor do we permit employers to contact students directly for this information in advance of their interviews).
Bidding and scheduling for both programs are managed via the b-Line.
