Judge Jeffrey S. White is a United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of California, Oakland Division. Before his appointment to the bench 2003, Judge White served in the United States Department of Justice, served in the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland, and was a partner and chair of the Litigation Department of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe. He received his J.D. at State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law in 1970. Judge White has been teaching at Berkeley Law since 1979. In 1994, he received the American Trial Lawyers Association’s Roscoe Pound Foundation Award for Adjunct Law Professors for excellence in teaching Trial Advocacy.
