Howard Clowes is a partner in the Corporate Group at DLA Piper, US, LLP. His practice has focused on venture finance, M&A, corporate partnering and joint ventures, SEC/public disclosure, and corporate governance, primarily in the biotech and technology industries.
His practice has included numerous international transactions, including M&A and joint ventures, as well as licensing transactions, particularly in biotech. His practice now includes representation of not-for-profits in various matters. He has been practicing in the corporate area at DLA and its predecessor law firms for 34 years.
During his career at DLA, Mr. Clowes spent a substantial amount of his time in firm management, including on the Board and as managing partner of the transactional group (all practice areas other than litigation) at Gray Cary Ware & Friedenrich. Mr. Clowes is a member of the Board of Directors and past President of the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley.
