Courtney McCausland is a lecturer in the LLM Legal Research & Writing Department. She also serves as the Managing Attorney for the NorCal Region at the International Rescue Committee. At IRC, Courtney works to expand access to justice and provide legal services to immigrant communities in Northern California. Prior to joining IRC, Courtney worked as the Co-Director of the Immigration Unit at the East Bay Community Law Center.
Courtney also volunteers as a panel attorney with the AIDS Legal Referral Panel, and has a particular passion for serving women. She is a member of the California State Bar; her professional interests include advocacy, research, and policy making in the social justice areas of immigration, gender and racial equity, reproductive justice, human rights, sustainable development, poverty reduction, and armed conflict prevention and resolution.
