Andrew Lah is the Managing Attorney of the Independent Investigations Bureau at the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office. There, he supervises a staff of prosecutors and sworn investigators who investigate and if appropriate prosecute, among other cases, officer-involved shootings and uses of force. He was previously a Deputy City Attorney in Oakland where he created an affirmative civil rights unit, a complex civil litigator at a national law firm, and an Assistant Federal Public Defender.
Andrew has tried numerous cases in state and federal courts, including capital murder, civil rights, drug trafficking, and complex white-collar cases, among others. He received his B.A. from Cornell University and his J.D. from UCLA, where he completed the Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy. He has also taught at UC Hastings College of the Law, Golden Gate Law School, UCLA, and Mills College.
Andrew Lah is not teaching any Law courses in Fall 2024.
