The latest developments at the intersection of art, finance, law, technology, and culture

 

The 3rd annual Art, Finance, and Law Symposium will take place May 16th, 2024 from 1 pm to 7 pm at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. This interdisciplinary symposium is intended for professionals and enthusiasts interested in cutting-edge research at the intersection of art, finance, law, technology, and culture. Prominent speakers from academia, government, and practice will come together to share their insights on various topics pertinent to the field. Through the symposium, industry experts will share advice and insights on many of the key factors in art investment – including the latest updates in legislation and case law.

Confirmed speakers and topics of discussion include:

  • Professor of Law and Dean of Berkeley Law, Erwin Chemerinsky and Steven F. Hayward, Senior Fellow, Public Law and Policy Program, Berkeley Law, on freedom of speech in the arts
  • Socrates Sourvinos, Consul General of Greece in San Francisco and Carla Shapreau, Continuing Lecturer, University of California, Berkeley, on the repatriation of artwork
  • Christopher K. Bleuher, Manager, Deloitte Consulting, on investment, finance, and fractional ownership of artwork
  • Alexander Reben, Artist in Residence, OpenAI
