A federal court recently upheld regulations issued by California’s Department of Financial Protection and Innovation that protect small businesses from predatory sales-based financiers. Our Berkeley Center for Consumer Law & Economic Justice filed an amicus brief supporting the regulations, and just filed another for a federal student loan program that has led to student debts being canceled for over 900,000 borrowers.
