Judicial Externships are the fieldwork component for students to work with courts, chambers, administrative law judges, and other judicially-related fieldwork. JD Students may do Away Judicial Externships for 4 - 12 units after their third semester of law school. Students considering 10-12 unit Judicial Externships must be approved by the Office of Student Services and the Field Placement Program. In addition, students must have their externships approved by the Field Placement Program Director before they are eligible to receive academic credit. Judicial Externships: Away students take the Away Field Placement Workshop course component.
