This course explores the law governing lawyers, including the ABA Model Rules of Professional Conduct, the California Rules of Professional Conduct and applicable case law. The course also focuses on recent developments and the practical application of ethical concepts in hypothetical scenarios. Attendance and class participation are a significant part of the grade.
The instructor, Andrew Dilworth, is a litigation partner with Cooper, White & Cooper LLP in San Francisco. His practice focuses on the law governing lawyers. He is a past Chair and Adviser to the California State Bar's Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (COPRAC) and a past Chair of the San Francisco Bar Association's Legal Ethics Committee.
