The primary goal of this course is to give an overview of the research universe that will make the transition from law school to law practice easier and more productive. In order to give students a framework for developing successful research strategies, we will be briefly exploring the history of legal materials and examining the structure and use of the various research tools. Students will be working with all types of research systems, from established print resources to the newest online research tools. As a part of the course, students will produce a pathfinder, which is a research guide to an area of law of their choosing.
The CCN will be provided by the instructors. In the meantime students should enroll in 208 Advanced Legal Research.
