Paul Vizcarrondo has been a partner in, and since 2019 0f counsel to, the litigation group of Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, focusing on corporate and securities litigation and regulatory and white-collar criminal matters, including litigating jury and non-jury trials throughout the United States to successful verdicts.
Mr. Vizcarrondo graduated from Columbia Law School in 1973, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and Articles and Book Reviews Editor of the Columbia Law Review. Before joining Wachtell Lipton in 1979, Mr. Vizcarrondo was a law clerk to the Honorable Edward Weinfeld, United States District Judge for the Southern District of New York (1973-1974) and an Assistant US Attorney in the Southern District of New York (1974-1978). He was awarded the Department of Justice’s Special Acheivement Award for his work in the Securities and Commodities Fraud Unit of the US Attorney’s Office.
Mr. Vizcarrondo has taught trial practice as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Law at New York University School of Law and as a faculty member of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He has lectured on the federal securities laws for the Practicing Law Institute, among numerous continuing education panels on which he has appeared, and has been a master of the Federal Bar Council’s Inn of Court. Mr. Vizcarrondo is recognized by Chambers USA Guide to America’s Leading Business Lawyers, Best Lawyers in America, Law Dragon’s 500 Leading Lawyers in America and Benchmark: Litigation as one of the top litigation lawyers in the country. He has been a member of the Columbia Law School Dean’s Council since 1998.
