Advocacy Competitions Program

Berkeley Law’s Advocacy Competitions Program provides nearly 200 students each year with experiential education opportunities and law school support as they develop oral and written advocacy skills outside of the traditional classroom environment.

Students can sign up to participate in the internal competitions we offer that are designed exclusively for Berkeley Law students at introductory and advanced levels in the areas of negotiation, appeals, and trial advocacy.

Opportunities are also available to students who successfully complete a tryout process to become members of the cocurricular Board of Advocates (BOA) organization. BOA members receive program support and coaching from current legal practitioners as they compete against other law schools at external competitions hosted regionally and nationally.
