How Civil Disobedience Can End Factory Farming: Acquitted, Convicted, and On Trial Again for Rescuing Animals. Wayne Hsiung is a former law professor, animal rights lawyer, and convicted felon. For decades, he’s risked his freedoms to rescue animals from some of the darkest corners of our food system. Most recently, he was tried and jailed in Sonoma County for organizing the rescue of factory farmed hens. Join Wayne and the Animal Legal Defense Fund this Wednesday to discuss how these criminal trials can be leveraged to free animals everywhere.
