The Law and Economics of Regulation of “Junk Fees”

Thursday, February 22, 2024 @ 12:50 pm - 2:00 pm

Companies often levy service charges, convenience fees, and similar unexpected fees for services that seemingly cost little or nothing for the companies to provide. Does this pricing structure make sense, and can government regulation help effectuate a more efficient result? Join us for a presentation by Professor Todd Zywicki of George Mason University’s Law School with commentary from Professor Abbye Atkinson of Berkeley Law. Sponsored by the Federalist Society. Lunch will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.
