Order in the Streets: Perspectives on the Federal Judicialization of the Homelessness Crisis

Thursday, October 5, 2023 @ 12:50 pm - 2:00 pm

Tartakovsky Event Flyer

Homelessness is a complex and agonizing issue. In California, and especially in the Bay Area, it’s also a pervasive issue. In a series of recent decisions, the Ninth Circuit and district courts in Western states have responded by striking down local restrictions against homelessness as violations of the U.S. Constitution. Is this the right approach? Joseph Tartakovsky, Assistant United States Attorney for the Northern District of California, offers his perspective. Lunch will be provided.
