In Get Off My Neck, Debbie Hines draws on her unique perspective as a trial lawyer, former Baltimore prosecutor, and assistant attorney general to argue that the prosecutorial system systematically targets and criminalizes Black people in the United States.
Told intimately through personal, family, and client narratives, this novel is not only a deeply sobering account of our criminal justice system and its devastating impact on Black citizens but also an inspiring roadmap for how we can take action now.
