Event Navigation
Every year, the Berkeley Journal of Employment and Labor Law (BJELL) invites a labor law expert to speak about their work to honor the memory of David E. Feller, the beloved labor law professor and advocate. We are excited to welcome National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) Member Gwynne A. Wilcox as this year’s Feller Lecturer. The NLRB is an independent federal agency vested with the power to protect employee’s right to organize and seek better working conditions as well as remedy unfair labor practices. Member Wilcox is the first Black woman to serve on the Board since its inception in 1935. Recently confirmed for her second term, Member Wilcox will focus her lecture on the NLRB’s recent Cemex Construction Materials Pacific decision, which aims to better effectuate employees’ right to bargain and to more effectively disincentivize employers from committing unfair labor practices.
There will be a Q&A following the lecture as well as a reception with light refreshments. Please RSVP here.
Events are wheelchair accessible. For disability-related accommodations, contact the organizer of the event. Advance notice is kindly requested.
