I am currently writing a book with Hans Bernd Schaefer entitled Law and the Poverty of Nations. The book asserts that countries grow quickly and lift themselves out of poverty by uniting innovative ideas and capital. Property, contract, and business law are the means by which innovative ideas and capital are united. I am also
writing on constitutional law and economics with Neil Siegel and Michael Gilbert. Siegel and I have a joint paper entitled “A Public Goods Theory of the General Welfare.” Finally, I am continuing my reseach on tort law with Ariel Porat. Our newest paper is entitled “Liability Externalities.”
