This course is intended for students who are interested in a general overview of intellectual property. It also provides a gateway to Berkeley Law's Law and Technology program. The course begins with an analysis of the competing policies underlying the intellectual property laws. It covers patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret law, as well as state law forms of protection. No technical background is expected or required.
