• February 14: CNN Reporter Jeremy Levin freed from captivity in Lebanon.
• March 6: Mike Tyson makes his professional debut in Albany, New York with a first-round knockout.
• March 25: At the 57th Academy Awards, Amadeus took home 8 Oscars, including Best Picture.
