Core in Context: Torts with Prof. Seth Davis

Thursday, September 11, 2025 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

What is tort law? How should we think about its relationship to labor, wealth, economic, political, and social power, and justice? How can thinking about tort law in its context help us learn about how law works and what it means to be a lawyer? Professor Davis will discuss these questions (and more!) in his lecture on tort law in context.

Seth Davis is a Professor of Law at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. His research explores questions of sovereignty, responsibility, and redress as they arise in both public law and private law, focusing upon administrative law, the federal courts, federal Indian law, fiduciary law, and tort law.

Lunch will be served inside of Room 145 starting at 12:40 PM. Please RSVP here. RSVPs will be prioritized.
