Neil Gallagher ’27 and Marisol Zarate ’27 received two of this year’s four Keker, Van Nest & Peters Diversity Scholar awards, given to aspiring Bay Area litigators who have overcome major adversity and who represent a broad range of identities and experiences. Each will receive $25,000 in scholarship grants as well as academic and professional mentorship. Gallagher is a former Marine who founded an oral history project that preserves the stories of U.S. veterans, and Zarate has helped marginalized communities lacking access to wealth, opportunity, and social capital.
