As a board member of the Boalt Hall Alumni Association, I am honored to chair the 2007-2008 Partners in Leadership campaign again this year. All law firms, government agencies and corporations with five or more Boalt graduates are encouraged to participate in this great program. Within each organization, volunteer captains take the lead in inspiring their Boalt colleagues to join together and meet the 100% giving challenge.

Last year, our goal was to raise $2 Million and I’m proud to report that we not only met, but exceeded that goal. More than $2,263,000 was raised from 760 alumni; of our 57 participating firms, 33 achieved the commendable goal of 100% participation. Firms reaching 100% participation are recognized at Boalt’s annual “Spotlight on Leadership” event with Dean Chris Edley and are invited to participate in a meet-and-greet with students following the reception.

This year, with more firms rising to the challenge and becoming Partners in Leadership, our goals grow more ambitious. Already we have 58 firms participating and are off to a strong start thanks to the efforts of our terrific volunteer captains. Together, we can set the example and make a real difference for our law school.
