Health and Life Science Law Society (HaLS) is a student organization at at Berkeley Law dedicated to supporting students interested in biotechnology law, health policy, and related areas in the life sciences. We host guest speaker events, networking opportunities, and mentorship programs while fostering a strong community for anyone exploring these fields. All students are welcome to join!
Please join us on November 5th, 2025, at 1-2pm in Room 170 for a discussion with Vincent Joralemon on “Ketamine, MDMA, and Psilocybin: How Psychedelics are Moving Towards FDA Approval.”
“Psychedelic therapies are inching from prohibition toward mainstream care, but access turns on three gates: FDA approval, DEA rescheduling, and insurance reimbursement. This talk, hosted by the new Life Sciences Law & Policy Center Director Vincent Joralemon, will trace how those gates actually open, using ketamine, MDMA, and psilocybin as case studies. No prior knowledge (or experience) necessary—we’ll provide all of the background you need.”
Please RSVP here by EOD Monday, November 3rd, 2025. Lunch will be provided!
These events are open only to UC Berkeley Law students, faculty, and staff, unless otherwise noted.
