Please join retired D.C. Circuit Judges Thomas Griffith and David Tatel for an interactive wide-ranging conversation moderated by Professor Amanda Tyler as they explore the importance of collegiality and finding common ground across the political aisle. Drawing on their friendship and experience serving together on the D.C. Circuit, Judge Griffith, an appointee of President George W. Bush, and Judge Tatel, an appointee of President Bill Clinton, will discuss their careers, how to disagree respectfully, and how they often found themselves in the same camp, including when, joined by Judge Tatel, Judge Griffith wrote the D.C. Circuit opinion in Shelby County v. Holder that was later reversed by the Roberts Court.
