As a participant in Advanced Trial Practice you will experience a learning-by-doing method to practice and perfect your skills in the challenging arts of trial advocacy and persuasion. In a simulated trial setting you will be performing: Opening statements and closing arguments, Impeachment, Direct & cross examinations, Voir Dire, Persuasion skills: thinking on your feet, Advocacy drills, Case strategy.

Following your live and sometimes videotaped performances you will be given feedback and critique from the faculty and their guests. There will be no written final examination, but rather the conducting of a trial.

Students should have taken Civil or Criminal Trial Practice or have been/currently are a member of a trial team.

This course satisfies the Skills Requirement.
