The annual Conference on Empirical Legal Studies (CELS) was initially launched in 2006, in response to the growing level of interest and expertise in the empirical study of law in law schools as well as other disciplinary fields. Due to the significant breadth and reach of empirical approaches across fields, CELS has quickly become one of the premiere conferences in law and social sciences. Each year, CELS attracts upwards of 350 researchers from around the globe and across dozens of disciplines. Prior host sites have been the University of Texas (2006), NYU (2007), Cornell (2008), USC (2009), Yale (2010), Northwestern (2011), Stanford (2012), and Penn (2013). In 2014, UC Berkeley is pleased to be hosting the event.
Organizers: Anne Joseph O’Connell and Eric Talley
Conference Program Committee: Robert Bartlett, Justin McCrary, Calvin Morrill, Anne Joseph O’Connell, Victoria Plaut, Kevin Quinn, Eric Talley and Frank Zimring
